I recently visited RUSH at Epsom last week on Wednesday 3rd April 2024.
It was a walk in appointment and I had Rachel as my stylist. I paid £70 for a cut & blowdry which I was initially happy about.
Rachel was lovely but she burnt my ear when she used the GHDs to style my hair.
I know she had another client waiting for and was running late for that client but I was in pain after the appointment.
As you can see from the photo I attach, the burn is sore and some of my hair is stuck to the burn.
I don't expect to go to a hairdressers, pay £70 and have to be nursing a burn.
I want to bring this to your attention because I wouldn't want anyone else to experience this.
I have been to RUSH Epsom many times over the years and this is the first time something like this has happened. It has not made the experience a pleasant one for me.

I went to the high wycombe salon for a hair cut that my son had purchased a voucher for a Christmas present for me, on my arrival I was shown to my seat by the hair dresser that was doing my hair, while I was explaining the hair cut I wanted she was called over by the receptionist to talk to a lady that had a complaint about the hair colour she had done, I was left waiting for about 20mins for her to come back to me, she did apologise for keeping me waiting but I should not have been left as a client for that amount of time, I then showed her a picture of the hair cut I wanted and explained that I cannot use styling brushes with the hair dryer to style my hair as I have bad arthritis in my hands and neck so I either rough dry it or leave it to dry naturally. She finished the cut and dried it with a round brush without asking me if I would like any heat protection products in my hair.
When I got home and checked my hair I was shocked to discover that when I brushed it through that she had cut far more off than I said I wanted at the sides and top, the cut she has done is really awful and not cut well in anyway.
I'm really unhappy with it and it cannot be put right as it is too short, the cost was £70 and a Christmas present from my son so as you can understand I would like my money back please. I hope that this will be sorted promptly yours sincerely Liane FryerNo!!!

Not happy with hair colour and cut is so bad
The hairdresser has cut my hair so bad no style I told her not to cut short I am growing my hair she has chopped my hair so much and made it not a style but short and awful.

I had requested for a redo of the same thing I did last time with Judith which was back in February
N had also booked an appointment with Judith for the redo of the same balayage starting from top.
Due to some circumstances the salon was shut and I received a call from rush Chiswick asking if i would be willing to do it there instead and they also assured me that the hair stylist was the same level as Judith.
The result is of what she did was a complete different compared to what I asked. Also, she mentioned that it would look better the next day or in sunlight.
I completely regret for choosing rush Chiswick, but I dont think I was at fault as for what I requested and booked the appointment for and with and to bear the consequences of your branch being shut due to some reasons.
Had expected for your customer service team to get back to me and I dont see that happening.
Not worth the £300 theyve made me spent.

I want to the salon with my partner to do my hair and my parents hair in Kensington in the morning because we have tv show and we meet the manager Tina,she was very road and my hair was the same after I finish and adidnt see any different after I finish she charged me over money also I want next day and I spoke to Bernadti in Kensington and she see my hair I still have my natural culler and nothing changed on my here but Bernadti helps me and she was very nice with me! Im very sad and disappointed about what Tina did to me and my partner also I have friends in my area she did the same with him.

Terrible customer service
I have been going Rush for years and I decided to try a different salon. They messed up a basic haircut and charged me £70.
The haircut made me look like a mushroom. I rang the salon to complain and was just fobbed off and told a manager would call me back and no one did so had to pay £70 elsewhere to fix it as I had work the next day. Then had to ring customer service and they fobbed me off aswell.
Asked for a refund and its taken them 2 weeks so far to get back to me. Terrible customer service and I will
Never return to Rush again after that.

Experience was just disappointed
Totally totally rubbish I would always go into rush hairdressers to get my hair styled ashed and blow-dried I would always have compliments
wherever I went when I would go down to my local shops where I lived I would always get compliments on my hair was layered beautiful and our thick my hair used to be (used to be) so thin now I cry every time I look in the mirror I look horrendous without wearing this hat
but I've had to get used to it for many months now this year 2019 I think it was may or June'when my life got put on hold it looks like my hair has been chopped with a pair of scissors with somebody's eyes closed that's how bad it looks my friends cannot get over how bad rush hairdressers has left me a write-off unfortunately the stylist who cut my hair normally no longer works there I was told over the telephone that there is somebody else who can do just as good as she did I was guaranteed by the manager that day when I came in she would cut and Style my hair just as good I came out with short back and sides it was so horrendous it's been months my hair still hasn't grown she thinned the back of my hair out so much I've had to wear a hat for months my hair is in dreadful condition I did go back rush hairdressers could not do anything with my hair because it was so short at the back it was different lengths at each side I looked so dreadful the stylist who tried to help she said to me I am sorry
but there isn't a lot I can do only shave one side of your neck to try to level it until it grows the two ladies standing behind the counter their faces were horrified![]()

Bad hair colour
I went to get blonde highlights after lockdown and salon was busy with colorist going between clients and ended up with blonde full permanent colour which will now take 2 years max to grow or be cut out and I also have to use expensive hair masks and conditioners. Unhappy. Very expensive

Disappointed that they have stopped NHS discount
Have stopped going to Rush recently after they stopped offering NHS discount. Disappointing after so many other businesses are introducing NHS discount given what front line staff are going through in COVID times
I have had my hair blow dried once a week for the last 3 years
also colour every 5 weeks. Now since lockdown the price is £50 for a blow dry .
!!!!This is unacceptable with no loyalty discount.
So I have already found another salon which I shall go to unless you resolve this problem. I am quite disgusted.

I do hope that Head office see this review. I booked a colour appointment at the Kensington branch on the 28th November 2019 for my Birthday, This was the last day of the colour 50% promo.
I went with Valentina.
She was obviously busy and in a rush but that is no excuse for Rude and crass behaviour. The first thing she said to me was "Oh i think you need a treatment" This was before offering me a colour chart to find out which one i wanted . To cut a bad Experience short , she left me downstairs in a noisy part of the salon that was so hot the colour was running down my Face. She had the cheek to say "See ya later" in the most inappropriate way whilst she kicked the trolley she was using into the corner.
I spoke to the manager about her disgraceful behaviour and was offered a senior stylist to rinse my colour off and do my blow dry that cost £40. Bettina did save the day with her professionalism and empathy however i will not enter this place again . Over priced and Rude, staff that need better staff..

NEW CLIENT Very unprofessional and a total rip off
I went for a straight wash and cut. Asked at reception if anyone was free.
I was not informed about any prices or as to who was going to cut my hair.
(example senior stylist)
My hair was washed and the towel put on my head had a horrible musty smell.
My hair cut took 5 minutes. I informed the stylist I was not happy with the cut.
She informed me it was fine.
I was charged £50.00 for a five minute hair cut.
I paid and complained the next day by Telephone
I rang several times, before the manger got back to me.
She was rude and did not listen to what I had to say.
Basically I should have been informed that I have senior stylist and this is how much it will cost me.
I am 65 old pensioner. I call this a total rip off.

Bullying at workplace
I have had many times of bullying at this work place but my main one which happened on the 01/04/2019, I had started work as normal everything was going fine then I got asked to go to Greggs for this girl and she asked me to get the money out of her bag I then came to realise that my denman paddle brush that had gone missing for over a week at this point was in her bag i didn’t say anything I went to Greggs for her then I called up a family member and said what should I do should I let her keep it or should I say something to the girl so then I got back to the shop and ended up mentioning it saying “is that my paddle brush” she then went on to screaming and swearing at me infront of 2 clients i then was like okay and went and done my client who had come in early she then kept shouting and swearing at me whilst I was trying to do my clients hair the girl and the other client then left the shop and I was alone in the shop with my client, my client went on the ask if I was okay and I was like oh I’m okay then she said it’s fine don’t worry I then started crying infront of the client and had to say sorry and went and wiped my tears away in the bathroom then came back and finished my clients hair my client then went on to say and I quote “I am afraid to leave you in this shop with that girl I think she might hurt you or something” we went to the front desk and I took her bill then the women said give me a piece of paper I’m going to write my details down so you can use me as a statement if you need to because she thought it was absolutely disgusting how the girl was treating me and let alone infront of the clients she was shocked at how unprofessional the girl was and how threatening she was being towards me after the women left the shop I went to clear my section then the girl goes to me you think I’d want to steal a denman brush I politely said “I don’t want to talk to you right now” she then went on to scream “you don’t want to *** talk to me right now” I said “no because you are being unprofessional shouting and swearing at me infront of clients” she then said “I don’t care if there are clients in the *** shop I will shout and swear at you if I want to” I then went to go collect my things she got up in my face and was screaming and swearing again and then she chucked the paddle brush at me almost hitting my arm I then proceeded to walk out the shop with my belongings and she shouted out the shop “goodbye don’t ever come back to my shop I don’t want to see your face again” she had also said prior to this “you want to be careful who you are accusing in this shop because you work here you’ll end up in serious trouble” so I was physically and verbally abused and threatened I have tried calling up HR and Customer Complaints just to try get through but no one seems to want to answer I haven’t been contacted by my manager as she was on the phone to the girl laughing about the whole situation so now I feel I have been left to deal eight his by myself and I have also spoke to my union rep and they’ve advised to call up which I have tried to but haven’t got nothing back what else can I do I want to take this matter further as I feel it needs to as I am scared to even go near the shop now
